What is llms.txt?
llms.txt is a proposed standard: a Markdown file at the root of a website that gives AI models a short summary of the site and links to its most useful pages, so they don't have to work it out from menus, scripts and ads. It starts with the site's name as a heading, a one-line summary as a quote, then sections of links.
It doesn't replace robots.txt (which says what crawlers may fetch) or your sitemap (which lists every page). Support among AI companies is still limited, so treat it as a low-effort extra alongside making your pages crawlable and worth citing.
